Park Roche Resort & Wellness, located amid the serene landscapes of Gangwon-do in South Korea, is proud to announce the opening of the new Spa by L'OCCITANE, marking a new milestone in the resort’s journey to becoming a premier destination for holistic wellness.

This collaboration between Park Roche and L'OCCITANE en Provence is built on a shared vision of promoting wellbeing, celebrating nature, honouring local cultures and enhancing sleep quality.

The Spa by L'OCCITANE at Park Roche offers a tranquil haven of wellbeing with spa treatments guided by the expertise of L'OCCITANE en Provence.

Guests are now invited to indulge in an experience that rejuvenates the body while immersing them in the soothing embrace of Jeongseon's natural surroundings – ideal for those seeking to unwind and reconnect with nature's serenity.

A tranquil escape amid Jeongseon’s majestic peaks

Located in the heart of Gangwon-do, Park Roche Resort & Wellness is surrounded by the picturesque landscapes of Gariwangsan and Dutasan.

The Spa by L’OCCITANE, located within the resort, is crafted with soothing light wood tones and expansive windows that invite the calmness of the outdoors inside. This serene environment is further enhanced by the thoughtful design that creates a private sanctuary for guests.

The Spa by L'OCCITANE: A retreat for relaxationSpanning 2,045sq ft, the Spa by L’OCCITANE at Park Roche provides a retreat where guests can disconnect from the stresses of everyday life and reconnect with themselves.

The spa features three treatment rooms, including a private single room and two couple’s suites, designed for personalised care and experiences.

Expert and inspired programming

The spa menu features Spa L’OCCITANE’s signature treatments, thoughtfully crafted around four key pillars: Beauty, Regeneration, Balance and Detox.

These pillars ensure that each guest enjoys a tailored experience that addresses their individual needs, fostering holistic wellbeing.

Highlighting the Regeneration pillar, the spa’s expert 90-minute Sleep & Reset Massage (KRW 235,000) is designed to restore the natural sleep cycle. Enhanced by guided breathing techniques and a blend of calming essential oils, this massage relieves tension and prepares the body for a good night’s sleep.

Tested in collaboration with the European Sleep Center, it has shown impressive results, including a 40 per cent improvement in sleep quality and a 30 per cent reduction in the time to fall asleep.

The cultural significance of the ‘Sleep & Reset Massage’ is deeply rooted in Park Roche's story.

The name Sugam (宿岩), meaning "sleep under the rock" in Korean and roche (French for "rock"), symbolises resilience, vitality and protection. Just as the ancient King Gariwang found rest beneath the rock, guests are invited to experience the grounding and calming influence of nature through this globally recognised treatment, embodying the restorative power of the rock itself.

Exclusive to Park Roche and designed by the Spa L’OCCITANE experts, the 130-minute Jeongseon Delights treatment, blends the natural benefits of locally sourced apples and honey with L’OCCITANE en Provence’s renowned Shea face products.

This treatment, costing KRW 310,000, begins with a soothing body massage to ease tension, followed by a revitalising facial that leaves the skin glowing with natural radiance.

Going above and beyondThe wellness experience at Park Roche extends beyond the treatment rooms, with a range of facilities designed to support relaxation and rejuvenation:

An Aqua Club: Guests can enjoy indoor and outdoor spa areas, including private Jacuzzis that offer stunning views of the surrounding mountains. • A 24/7 fitness centre: Equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, the fitness centre allows guests to maintain their wellness routines at any time of day.

Relaxation spaces: The resort offers a variety of peaceful environments, including a spacious library where guests can read or listen to music while taking in panoramic views, a glass house designed for quiet reflection, and a rooftop garden perfect for meditation or yoga. Additionally, multiple fire pits scattered throughout the garden provide cosy spots for evening relaxation.
