£250,000 renovation for Suffolk gym
Abbeycroft Leisure has announced plans to carry out an extensive £250,000 refurbishment of the fitness facilities at Bury St Edmunds Leisure Centre in Suffolk.
Matrix will supply 110 pieces of equipment for the new-look gym, which will comprise the Virtual Active workout experience to simulate climbing, running and hiking.
A new functional training area is also proposed by the leisure trust and social enterprise for the venue, which will include a TRX suspension training area and a Power Plate zone.
Abbeycroft Leisure fitness manager Matt Hickey said: "It may not seem long ago that we refurbished the gym but innovations in fitness have moved on and people's training needs change.
"Everything will be new from the layout to the flooring and the fitness equipment to the functional training area. We have listened to members needs when drawing up the plans and we know the improvements will be very much welcomed."
