£100m investment for Oldbury
Developers have unveiled plans for a £100m investment in Oldbury.
The proposed scheme called The Junction is being developed by the Junction Partnership, a partnership between Capital & Regional and Morley Fund Management, which already has a portfolio of 15 leisure and retail parks valued at £350m.
Located on a 15.3 acre derelict site at Oldbury Ringway, easily accessible to the local community, the scheme will include a five-a-side football centre, an indoor climbing wall, an ice and roller park as well as restaurants and bars. A community agreement will give local schools and community groups free access to the nine football pitches in the area.
The planning application to Sandwell Council is the result of six year's work with the council and local community. Chief executive of The Junction, Andrew Lewis-Pratt says the scheme will breathe new life into the area: 'The leisure facilities are unique and will help make Oldbury the place to meet, play, eat and shop.'
