The London Grosvenor House hotel on Park Lane in London is undergoing a £100m refurbishment.
On completion – scheduled for the first quarter of 2008 – the hotel will be rebranded as a JW Marriott hotel – a more exclusive brand status within the Marriott group.
All 446 rooms and suites and public areas will be revamped and a new spa built.
A signature restaurant and brassiere featuring a Michelin-starred chef is expected to open in January 2007, with speculation that chef Richard Corrigan may clinch the deal.
The hotel is also in the process of applying for a casino licence, with an initial hearing this month. Details: www.ichotels.com
