Yeovil Town plans stadium redevelopment
Yeovil Town Football Club (YTFC) has unveiled plans for the construction of a new 3,500-seat stand and a retail development at its Huish Park stadium.
The scheme - designed to help encourage the club's future growth - will be carried out in partnership with CDS to transform "poor quality" land to the north of the venue. YTFC said that it was currently exploring a number of options to provide the team with an alternative facility to train in town, with "sub-standard" pitches to make way for the plans.
"By developing the area around Huish Park we have the opportunity to bring in much needed investment to the club and the area.," said YTFC chair John Fry. "Without this investment there is a high chance that we won't meet the Football Leagues future demands for stadium improvements, which will mean that we may not be able to stay in the League."
