Wyre Council opens Spa on the Breck, completing first phase of £5.1m plans to “reinvent leisure”
Lancashire’s Wyre Council has completed the Spa on the Breck in Poulton-le-Fylde, marking the first phase of the Council’s £5.1m plans to “reinvent leisure” in Wyre.
Situated inside the transformed YMCA Poulton Health and Fitness Centre, which is owned by the council and operated in partnership with YMCA, the DaleSauna-designed spa offers a 3m spa pool, pine sauna, steam room, aromatherapy room, salt room, two monsoon showers, an ice feature and heated benches.
“This development is part of a growing trend amongst local authority and trust operators, who are broadening their health and fitness services to provide a wider wellness offering, which has a much broader appeal across the age ranges,” said Gerard McCarthy, sales director at DaleSauna.
The spa features warm, earthy tones in the aromatherapy room and bolder blues and greys for the ice feature, salt room and steam room.
Clients can take advantage of all of the thermal experiences as part of the Spa Journey, which is priced at £15 for two hours. The spa also offers a selection of pamper days, spa gifts, party and hire packages.
Additional plans for reinventing leisure in Wyre (which has its own website at http://www.reinventingleisure.co.uk/) include ten pin bowling, an indoor ramp park, outdoor 3G pitches and upgraded health and fitness suites.
