Manufacturer Concept2 has launched the SkiErg, a cardio machine that combines both upper and lower body workouts, designed to mimic cross-country skiing.
SkiErg can also be used as a general upper-body trainer. As well as providing an aerobic workout, the machine is also intended to encourage the proper Nordic skiing technique for maximum efficiency.
With adjustable handle straps and a resistance set by the user, thanks to an air-resistant flywheel, participants can track their progress with the SkiErg Performance Monitor.
A versatile machine, the SkiErg can also be used to train for a variety of other sports, including swimming, and is already used by the GB Biathlon and Rowing teams.
