Work starts on £400,000 refurbishment of Cardiff leisure centre
Work is now underway on a £400,000 refurbishment of Cardiff's Fairwater Leisure Centre, which forms part of the local authority's wider strategy to improve local provision.
Due for completion in mid-September, the renovation will lead to the creation of a new gym containing around 30 stations supplied by Life Fitness.
A coffee and juice bar; a dance studio; and a multi purpose activity room will also be offered at the new-look Fairwater Leisure Centre. Existing facilities will remain open throughout.
Cardiff Council cabinet member for sport, leisure and culture Huw Thomas said: "This forms just one plank of improvements to leisure centres to be carried out across the city over the next year.
"This includes the refurbishment of Eastern Leisure Centre and additional improvements to be carried out on Pentwyn and Llanishen Leisure Centres."
