Wests opens its second club
Hospitality company The Wests Group has invested AUD$12m (£5m) in a second health and fitness club in New South Wales, Australia.
At 4,500sq m, the purpose-built Balance Health Club has been designed to maximise workout space.
Equipped by Nautilus, Schwinn and Stairmaster, the club includes a gym with 100 CV stations, resistance and freeweights areas, a personal training area, group fitness studio, cycling studio and pilates studio.
It also offers 25m and 12m pools, a learner pool and swim fit programmes.
The facility’s different areas target different demographics. The health club caters mainly for the corporate market and the 30-50 age group, while the aquatics area attracts children and families.
Close to 2,000 people have already joined Balance and Wests aim is to have 6,500 members by 2007. The company also plans to launch a third health club in 2007.
