Wave Leisure Trust elects new Chair and Vice Chair
Wave Leisure Trust has announced the election of a new Chair, Vincent Burch, and Vice Chair, David Hearn, for the Board of Trustees for 2012-2013 at their recent AGM.
Vincent Burch joined the Board of Wave Leisure in 2005 following 3 years as Finance Director for another Sussex based leisure trust. He has extensive experience in the social housing sector and prior to its closure, worked for Parker Pen in Newhaven.
He has recently joined a local environmental compliance and recycling company as Financial Controller. He is a qualified football coach and is an Assistant Scout Leader in Lewes. Vincent is a keen runner and cyclist and a regular gym user at Lewes Leisure Centre. He has a particular interest in mental health and the benefits to all of regular activity.
Vincent said:" After 6 years on the board of Wave Leisure Trust I am delighted to be able to step up to the role of Chair for the final year of my tenure. Having achieved a great deal of success and momentum over the years, as a trust, we are looking forward to continuing to achieve our purpose of inspiring an active lifestyle through being at the heart of the improvement of health and wellbeing within our communities."
David Hearn joined the Board of Wave Leisure in January 2012. He has a background in public and third sector sports and leisure management including more than 15 years experience working at strategic and operational level.
As well as running his own leisure management consultancy business, David' s other interests include volunteering as a Business Mentor for Sported and acting as a non executive director for a local start up involved in developing community transportation and mobility services.
Wave Leisure Trust Managing Director, Peter Crowley, said: "We are delighted to be able to confirm Vincent and David as our Chair and Vice Chair for Wave Leisure Trust. Both of them bring many years of experience in health and leisure as well as bringing their individual expertise in areas such as staff development and the environment."
