WTS International (WTS), the global spa consultancy and management firm, has appointed Lily Tan as vice president, Asia Pacific, where she will oversee development and operations for WTS Asia.

Tan studied architectural and interior design at Swinburne University of Technology in Melbourne, Australia. Her most recent project is an 18,000sq m (193,750sq ft) integrated wellness hot spring centre in Tianjin, with Tianjin Warner International.

A former regional director of operations for the Minor Group, Tan oversaw the northern Asia region for the company. She has also worked on conceptual branding, spa design, spa menu development and operations with Accor, Starwood, Marriott and Urban Group properties.

Tan previously joined the Royal Brunei Jerudong Park Medical Centre to manage and develop numerous spas, medical spas, rehabilitation centres and fitness facilities in Asia. She’s also worked for international retail brands such as Estée Lauder, Lancôme and Guerlain in development, sales and staff training.

Tan said: “I will be responsible for managing all existing accounts in the region and for developing new business to grow WTS’s presence. I’ll also work with the US team to provide consulting services, in addition to building the APAC team.”

Tan also has experience in developing markets in Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Korea and China.

Gary Henkin, president of WTS said: “Lily Tan’s extensive experience within the spa, hospitality and wellness industries, combined with her background in design and architecture, brings a truly positive value proposition not only to WTS International, but also to all our clients.”
