Visit Scotland launches new initiative
The Scottish Government agency Visit Scotland is launching its first e-marketing initiative as part of a drive to promote its Autumn Gold brochure after a summer season affected by foot and mouth diease.
15,000 emails, collected last year through self-mailing questionnaires will be sent to previous respondents in a supplement to a substantial campaign, with 600,000 leaflets being sent to Visit Scotland's mailing lists, along with 2.7m inserts and over 20 press adverts in the national press in England and Scotland.
The promotion includes offers with over 450 partners, including travel companies Aer Lingus and Stena Line as well as online booking agent lastminute.com.
Some of the principle features of the campaign will be discounted rates at hotels and special admission prices, such as free entry to the National Museum of Scotland, and two for one admission to all Historic Scotland sites.
