Virgin to open Heathrow Cowshed spa
Virgin Atlantic Airways has unveiled plans to open a luxury spa at its business class lounge at Heathrow Airport.
The spa, to be called Cowshed at the Clubhouse will be open to Virgin’s Upper Class passengers travelling to the US.
Although details of the spa have yet to be confirmed, facilities will include treatment rooms, a spa pool, a sauna, steamroom and a tanning booth.
There will also be a hairdressing salon, called Bumble & Bumble, as well as a retail area.
Treatments will include a range of massages, facials and manicures.
The spa is part of an £11m (US$19.6m, 16m Euros) development programme which will double the size of the existing Clubhouse – Virgin’s business and first class passenger lounge.
The new facility will be more than 2,500sq m (27,000sq ft) in size and also include a cocktail bar with a Japanese water wall.
Cowshed Spa is the luxury spa brand of Soho House – the famous private members club and hotel in Manhattan’s Meatpacking district in New York.
