Virgin Islands hotel opens luxury destination spa
The Wyndham Sugar Bay Resort in St Thomas, Virgin Islands (US) has recently opened the £1.5m Journeys Spa which it claims offers guests a world of tranquillity and reflection.
Set in lush tropical surroundings with views of the Caribbean, the spa offers a full complement of massage and body services plus a fitness centre and beauty salon. Additional facilities include a sauna, steamroom, spa pool and spa boutique.
The first level of the 10,000sq ft facility houses six treatment rooms, a private couples massage suite with an oversized hydrotherapy tub, separate hydrotherapy rooms and a beauty salon.
The second levels features a 2,500sq ft fitness centre plus aerobics and yoga studios. Journeys Spa also includes a private, outdoor massage cabana, private outdoor sanctuaries to allow guests to feel at one with nature and rainforest showers.
Journeys Spa offers a selection of all-inclusive destination and day spa packages which are 'designed to provide guests with a few hours of heaven on earth'.
Signature spa experiences include the Journeys 'Beach Stone' massage, which combines the use of hot and cold stones from river and lave beds with massage and the Cleopatra and Anthony Journey, an all-encompassing therapeutic bath experience using ylang ylang, sandalwood, jasmine and cedar.
