Villages to benefit from rural community programme
A rural community scheme, designed to offer parish councils activity sessions organised by qualified coaches, is underway in Northamptonshire.
The scheme, organised by Cultural Community Partnerships (CCP) and funded by the Lankelly Chase Foundation, a Leicester City Council’s Bridging Communities Grant and CCP, follows a successful pilot scheme earlier this year.
The four-week Rural Community Programme (RCP) began on 25 July and runs until 18 August and will see qualified coaches and equipment – including table tennis and new age kurling kits – being delivered to isolated villages in the region.
The RCP has been organised in partnership with Wellingborough Action Sport Programme (WASP) and targets children aged eight to 13 years old. Details: www.culturalcommunitypartnerships.org.uk
