Urban Rebounding bounces into Esporta
Urban Rebounding, a studio-based exercise programme using a mini-trampoline, is being piloted at Esporta fitness clubs following its success in the US.
Esporta’s Chiswick Riverside club has launched the programme, which consists of a cardiovascular workout performed on the Urban Rebounder to challenge the participant’s balance and co-ordination.
Routines are structured around eight core moves which involve all muscle groups. These are developed into routines created by the trainer, or follow one of 20 set workouts.
The training programme has proved popular in the US where it is offered in more than 3,000 clubs, including Gold's, New York Health Clubs, Equinox Group, LA Fitness and Crunch Fitness.
Brought to the UK by Health2Fitness, Urban Rebounding is said to stimulate lymphatic drainage, improve the immune system,m reduce body fat and firm legs, thighs, the abdomen, arms and hips.
All the Esporta classes are taught by qualified trainers and training courses are accredited by the Register of Exercise Professionals (REPs).
“Urban Rebounding is an exciting new way of exercising that appeals to all ages and benefits just about every part of our bodies,” said Mark Talley, group health and fitness manager for Esporta.
“It has already proved itself extremely popular in the USA, and I think it has the potential to be huge in the UK. We have begun a pilot of the programme at our Chiswick Riverside club, but if successful we hope to introduce it at other clubs across the country.”
