A new independent gym has opened in Hucknall, Nottinghamshire, offering guests the use of over 70 pieces of equipment, a supplement bar and the services of a hairdresser.

Ultimate Gym and Fitness has been developed by bodybuilder Christopher Law – who also owns Platinum Gym and Fitness in Ilkeston – alongside his two personal friends Dale Broome and Stephen Hamilton.

The facility is set out over 5,500 sq ft (511sq m) of space, with the gym featuring a variety of equipment, including treadmills, cross-trainers, bikes, free weights, strength machines and abdominal rollers.

The site also houses changing rooms, allowing local residents to come before or after work.

The creation of the gym comes as its developers hope to gain increased custom due to a number of developments set to grow in the area in the coming years.

Located at Unit 2, Ben Arron House, in Wigwam Lane, Ultimate Gym and Fitness is open seven days a week from 7am until 9pm Monday through to Friday, while weekend hours are 8am until 4pm.

The gym also offers a flexible pricing structure, allowing guests to pay on a daily, weekly or monthly usage basis.

It costs £10 for men for a week’s use, or £8 for women, while monthly membership stands at a flat rate of £25.
