US military personnel and veterans to receive free massages
Massage Envy Spas in the Chicago metropolitan area, US, are offering military personnel and veterans complimentary one-hour stress-relief massage sessions in honour of Veteran’s Day on 11 November.
The one-day event will take place at all 37 Massage Envy Spa franchise locations in and around Chicago, and others across the US if valid military identification is presented at the time of service and pre-booked.
“We are excited to be able to give back to the men and women who have dedicated their lives for the safety and freedom of our country,” said Peter Carlson, regional developer and partner at Massage Envy Spa.
“Massage is a tremendous stress reducer and the perfect gift for us to provide to our military personnel and their spouses to thank them for their service.”
Meanwhile, other wellbeing organisations are attempting to relieve symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) found in veterans. The International Spa Association (ISPA) Foundation has announced the award of the Dr Howard Murad Research Grant to a project which will focus on the effects of spa-style interventions to improve the overall health and wellbeing of PTSD sufferers.
