UKFN appoints board members
A further four members have been appointed as directors of the UK Fitness Network (UKFN).
The new directors are Steve Ward from Greenwich Leisure, Peter King from Fusion, Karen Burrell from Freedom Leisure and Ken Leggate from Redbridge Sports and Leisure.
The quartet was elected at the UKFN's first AGM earlier this month, to help shape the strategic direction of the organisation and lead on specialist areas such as IT, expansion and marketing.
UKFN is a non-profit company aiming to link up the UK's trust-managed leisure centres to make it easier for members of trust-operated centres to exercise. The network currently includes 136 sites across the UK.
Phil Rumbelow, UKFN spokesperson, said: "We have an excellent balance of representatives from both large and small trusts on the board, as well as a mix of important skills.
"We are confident that, with the new board in place, we can further expand the network across the UK."
