UK roll-out for Shropshire fitness chain
Bodytech, the independently-owned health club business based in Shropshire, is planning to roll-out its affordable fitness concept across the UK by offering franchise opportunities.
Jeff Anderson founded the Bodytech chain in 1998 in Shrewsbury, before opening a second site in Market Drayton with business partner Peter Metcalfe in 2006.
Further sites opened in Whitchurch and Chester (2007) and Oswestry (2009), which all have a floorspace of between 8,000-10,000sq ft (743-929sq m) and offer a personal approach.
Anderson now believes the model can be replicated in other small market towns and said that the concept is an alternative to "impersonal" budget gyms as the populations are too small.
"Having built our chain over the past 14 years, we have created a powerful, well-known brand and have accumulated a great deal of experience," said Anderson.
"Our success is down to offering a unique service to a specific market and we are excited about sharing that formula with others who have the same beliefs and motivation."
In addition to Anderson and Metcalfe, the Bodytech franchising team also includes director Nick Blackbourn.
