UK Film Council produces new board directors
The government-backed strategic agency for film in the UK, the UK Film Council, has made four new additions to its board of directors.
Andrew Eaton, company director of Revolution Films which produced Wonderland, and also a member of the BAFTA Council and Skillset’s Communications Committee, will serve as deputy chair.
Alongside Eaton, David Sproxton, director of Aardman Animations, which produced Chicken Run,; Alison Owen, the co-director of Ruby Films and producer of Sylvia, and Marc Samuelson, producer of Tom and Viv, will join the council as board directors.
Announcing the appointments, arts minister Estelle Morris said: “The UK film industry is growing faster than ever and it needs a dynamic team to help steer it through new challenges and make the most of new opportunities.
“I am delighted that such a talented and experienced producer as Andrew Eaton will be taking over as deputy director of the UK Film Council. His skills complement those of the new chair very well.
“I also want to welcome the three new members to the board of directors, who will donate a wealth of experience to the Film Council, having worked in very different sectors of the industry.” Details: www.ukfilmcouncil.org.uk
