Each of David Lloyd Leisure's (DLL) eight flagship Region One venues now offer Trixter Xdream bikes, following the success of the machines at its Basildon and Exeter sites.

Two DLL clubs in London - Finchley and Hampton - received four bikes, as have locations in Farnham, Surrey; Milton Keynes; Leeds; Cambridge; Chigwell, Essex; and Beckenham, Kent.

A three-week installation schedule included presentations to sales and front-of-house staff, while the respective gym teams also benefited from an Xdream training day.

Trixter Xdream bikes aim to simulate the experience of outdoor mountain biking and boast a computer display on an LCD screen that is controlled by a number of mounted sensors.

DLL head of sports, health and fitness Rob Beale said: "We worked closely with the team to get all the staff at our clubs excited about the Xdream bikes - not just the fitness teams.

"It is forward thinking equipment that is really enjoyable for members and creates a buzz that most fitness kit can't manage."
