Tourism minister John Penrose has been confirmed as the guest of honour at the parliamentary and media launch of Business in Sport and Leisure's (BISL) new industry report.
The BISL Oliver Wyman Leisure Industry Report is to be unveiled at Riley's Sports Bar in Victoria, London, on 12 June. It has been produced by consulting firm Oliver Wyman.
It will feature a comprehensive socio, political and economic analysis of the domestic sector and the contribution that sport and leisure makes to the UK economy.
BISL CEO Simon Johnson said: "My aim is to change the narrative surrounding the broadly based leisure industry, by demonstrating that it is a major sector of the economy.
"The BISL Oliver Wyman Leisure Industry Report will provide a detailed empirical backdrop to support our arguments for government to adopt a more progressive approach to the sector."
