Tourism NT to promote only accredited businesses
From July next year, Tourism Northern Territory in central Australia will only promote accredited tourism businesses.
To benefit from promotional and distribution opportunities offered by the tourism agency, accommodation, attraction and tour operators will need to be licensed by Tourism Accreditation Australia (TAAL).
Services which will only be available to accredited businesses include promotions via advertisements or public relations activities; inclusion in the Northern Territory and Australian Tourism Data Warehouse; inclusion in the Territory Discoveries’ wholesale programme participation in the Brolga Awards for Tourism Excellence; inclusion in trade or media familiarisations programmes; and Involvement in trade or consumer shows, sponsored or coordinated by Tourism NT.
Australia Tourism Accreditation Programs (ATAP) will be offered by various bodies, including Tourism NT, Tourism Industry Council (ACT & Region), SA Tourism Accreditation Board, Tourism Accreditation Board of Victoria, Tourism Council Tasmania and Tourism Council Western Australia.
Sector specific programs will also be available from Eco Tourism Australia and the Caravan, RV and Accommodation Industry of Australia.
