TopGolf announces five-year rollout

TopGolf has announced its is to open its second UK site in Chigwell, Essex, in March 2004 as part of its five-year rollout plan.

The company already has a site in Watford, where 90,000 people have tried the game –golf balls containing microchips are hit from driving bays onto a 250m long outfield with the microchip relaying the distance and accuracy of each shot – since it opened at the end of 2000.

The new Chigwell site will offer 55 driving bays in a two-storey range as well as tuition, golf retail, a café/bar and corporate entertainment facilities.

The rights to develop TopGolf in the UK and Ireland are held by Baydrive Group, which, with backing from Henderson Private Capital, plans to open 10 TopGolf Game Centres over the next five years.
