Three new properties in Thailand for Movenpick
Movenpick Hotels & Resorts has signed management agreements for the operation of three new hotels in Thailand.
The properties - which will join the company's existing Thai hotel, the Movenpick Resort and Spa Karon Beach Phuket - include the Movenpick Suriwongse Hotel Chiang Mai, the Movenpick Resort & Spa Mae Nam Beach Koh Samui and the Movenpick Hotel & Residences Bangkok. The 286-room Movenpick Suriwongse Hotel Chiang Mai is to be the renovation of an existing hotel and is scheduled to open by mid-2011. Planned facilities will include a Thai-Italian Restaurant, an all-day dining venue and a wine bar. Shops and a range of wellness options - including a spa, pool and fitness centre - are also to be provided.
The Movenpick Resort & Spa Mae Nam Beach Koh Samui, expected to be in operation by the end of next year, will feature 81 exclusive villas with private pools and offer contemporary dining outlets, an extensive organic garden with a Thai restaurant, and a signature spa. The Movenpick Hotel & Residences Bangkok will feature 266 rooms and suites, in addition to 100 residences. The property is due to open by 2014.
A further project is also underway in the country, the Movenpick White Sand Beach Resort near Pattaya, which is scheduled to open by 2013.
