Third Singapore survey released by Intelligent Spas
Research company Intelligent Spas has released its third survey into the Singapore spa industry, predicting that spas will grow by more than 10 per cent over the next couple of years.
The report – entitled Spa Industry Profile Singapore 2003-2008 – identifies a total of 173 spa facilities in Singapore, of which more than half (58 per cent) are stand-alone day spas, while 14 per cent are hotel spas.
The average spa has an indoor area of 6,490sq ft (603sq m) and contains 8.7 treatment rooms, while 88 per cent of spas surveyed provided a relaxation room. Aromatherapy was practiced by 97 per cent of the spas.
Speaking about the findings of the report, Julie Garrow, Managing Director of Intelligent Spas, said: “Although the Singapore spa industry is relatively mature, spa numbers are predicted to grow another 11 per cent over the next two years.”
