The Photographers' Gallery (TPG) is to unveil its new home on Ramillies Street in central London tomorrow (19 May), following the completion of a major £8.9m redevelopment project.
Ireland-based architects O'Donnell + Tuomey have designed the building, which will feature three floors of gallery space and has increased the available exhibition space by 100 per cent.
TPG showcases work by established and high-profile artists, as well as emerging talent from around the world. Work started on its transformation in mid-2010.
Located between two of the exhibition floors is the Studio Floor, which will accommodate an extensive range of talks, events, workshops and courses, in addition to a camera obscura.
Arts Council England has supported the development with a £3.6m grant, while £2.5m has been provided by a number of trusts, foundations, individuals and corporate organisations.
