TPL to design new Moscow golf academy
Surrey-based design practice Thomson Perrett and Lobb (TPL) has been selected to draw up plans for a new golf academy for Moscow, Russia.
The academy will be located at the Luzhniki Olympic Complex, which is one of largest sports facilities in Europe and caters for more than 40 different activities. A nine-hole, par three golf course will be included as part of the TPL-designed academy, along with a driving range, clubhouse, family adventure golf and practice putting.
TPL principal Tim Lobb said: "The golf academy at the Luzhniki Olympic Complex will be an important development for Russia. "This will be the closest golf facility to the city centre and will be a family friendly and social venue that will enable the people of Moscow to experience, enjoy and learn to play golf."
Deputy director of development and commercial affairs of the Luzhniki Olympic Complex, Dimitry Aleshin, added: "We were impressed with TPL's proposals for a golf academy and their skills in precisely realising our vision for this unique sports complex."
