Support for sporting youngsters
L.A Fitness has joined forces with the charity SportsAid to support talented sporting youngsters in the UK.
The initiative, launched next week, means that more than 160 young people from around the country will benefit from cash grants, as well as free use of L.A Fitness training facilities. Around 40 clubs will each adopt two young people, and support them as they train to reach an international level.
Fred Turok, chief executive of L.A Fitness said: 'There is so much talent in this country that needs encouraging and supporting, and we are in the right position to help get youngsters on the right track to realising their dreams and achieving success on the world stage.' L.A Fitness clubs will also raise funds throughout the year to support at least two local up-and-coming sports stars.
At the Sydney Olympic and Paralympic Games, more than 60 per cent of the British medallists had received support from SportsAid during their youth.
