Suki Kalirai to leave re-aqua
Suki Kalirai is to step down from his role as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Serve Health and Beauty, which trades in the UK under the re-aqua day spa and Dove Spa brands.
During Kalirai’s tenure as chair and then CEO of Serve Health and Beauty, the re-aqua business expanded to 30 sites in the UK.
Suki also oversaw the licensing of Dove Spa. Two pilot salons were opened in the UK and the Dove Spa professional product range was developed in co-operation with Unilever, the owner of the Dove brand.
He was part of the board decision to develop the holding company of Serve Health and Beauty into Spa and Salon international. This involved raising finance from Unilever and other investors, enabling the acquisition of the Ponds Institute day spa and salon business in Spain and the global expansion of the Ponds Institute and Dove Spa brands. Following this transaction, Suki was responsible for the UK business.
Suki is formally contracted to re-aqua until the end of 2007. Spa and Salon International is chaired by Roger Pedder, the former chair of Clarks, and following Suki's departure, a new Managing Director will be recruited to head up the UK business.
Suki will continue to chair the Spa Business Association and sit on the board of the Hairdressing and Beauty Industry Association (HABIA) as well as pursuing interests outside the spa and beauty sectors.
