Students check out health and safety at Pride Park
Derby County football club welcome students from Burton College recently at its Pride Park ground to give them an insight into health and safety issues at football grounds.
The students, all in the second year of a pre emergency services course, were visiting as part of the fire and safety legislation module, which looks at how legislation has changed the face of football since the Bradford and Hillsborough tragedies.
Course leader, Malcolm Goode, said: “An important part of the students course is the module which looks at how legislation can work in practice and change things for the better.
‘The visit to Pride Park was an excellent way of illustrating to the students in tangible terms, all of these points.
“The students were given a very informative tour which illustrated how spectators are now able to enjoy football without the fear of fire or crushing.”
