Sports and leisure centre for Sheffield site
Sheffield City Council is planning a sports and leisure centre for Waterthorpe Greenway, a site 8km south east of the city centre.
The council is currently seeking a developer and operator for the 17.8acre site, and has released an outline specification for its proposed leisure development - which could be supported by commercial and business uses.
Essential requirements are the provision of swimming pools for wet leisure activities as well as being suitable for lane swimming and teaching; a sports hall which can accommodate badminton, five-a-side football, volleyball, basketball and netball; a licensed bar and meeting room.
The council also wants plans to include a fitness suite and space for franchised business units such as hairdressers, beauty therapy, reflexology.
It is intended that the sports and leisure centre would cater for both pay and play and private membership. Details: Fiona Morris, CB Hillier Parker +44 (0)20 7882 8226
