Spa resort for divers
A brand new spa resort will open in September 2002 on Gangga island, a diving paradise near Minado, Indonesia.
Singapore based consultant Spa Synergy has been appointed by travel and tour operator Lotus Enterprises to set up the spa, which will feature private cabanas and signature treatments, designed especially for divers.
Natural Indonesian therapies using herbs and botanicals will ease aches and pains suffered by divers, including back ache and sore legs. Spa Synergy's special oxygenation treatment will remove excess nitrogen from diver's bodies and allow them to rebalance naturally after a dive.
A small clinic with a resident nurse will be on hand for divers.
The spa will stand on five hectares on land, cost two million dollars to build and include 30 standard and ten superior rooms.
Gangga Island has one of the richest biodiversitys in the world and is popular with divers, underwater photographers and marine biologists. At present, 70% of the guests to the resort are from Italy but visitor numbers are growing from the rest of Europe.
General Manager of Gangga Island Resort, Gaspare Davi says 'my vision is to create a simple spa resort that will not only appeal to avid divers but also to those taking it up for the first time'.
