Spa concept for Sulwhasoo brand
Korean skincare brand Sulwhasoo is to extend its new spa brand concept in the US and China, following the recent debut of its flagship facility in Hong Kong, China.
The inaugural Sulwhasoo Spa opened in June in Tsim Sha Tsui and features nine treatment rooms. The spa's façade was designed by French architect Jacques Ferrier, who also recently designed the French Pavilion for the World Expo 2010 in Shanghai. Ferrier's inspiration for the façade came from the floral motif that can be found in temples from the Joseon Dynasty.
Sulwhasoo's own-brand of premium skincare products, based around Korean herbology, are used in treatments, as well as a range of tools including jade rings and white porcelain.
Further expansion in China is planned, as well as the US. Over the next two years, Sulwhasoo will first enter each market with its products, and then expand to a spa business model, similar to the Hong Kong offering.
Established in 1972, Sulwhasoo is one of Korea's premium herbal medicine-based cosmetic brands. Details: sulwhasoo.com
