Spa Finder unveils predicted spa trends
A focus on healthy sleep and detox solutions are expected to be the major spa industry trends of 2007, according to global spa resource Spa Finder.
The company has published is fourth annual prediction of spa industry trends, based upon widespread consumer input, travel by the company and its close working relationships with both day and stay spas across the world.
The 10 highlighted trends to watch for include a focus on healthy sleep and the emerging field of sleep medicine; clients looking for detox solutions – including relaxation, all-organic diets and sweating through exercise, steams or saunas; spa retreats which focus on wellness workshops, spiritual retreats or boot camps and medical tourism, where people will travel to another city, state or country for medical spa experiences.
Other areas to look out for include spa fusion – such as Watsu and yogalates – while buzz words and phrases for next year include Ayurveda, HRT for Men, Hyperbaric Chamber, Vibration Therapy and Social Hydrotherapy.
President Susie Ellis said: “These trends will all continue to unfold and develop in 2007 and of course, entirely new concepts will hit the scene. Evolution is the one constant in the vibrant world of spa, which is why we focus on predicting where the industry is going, rather than reporting where it’s already been. This is what we see as the cutting edge – and where it will take us in the year ahead.” Details: www.spafinder.com
