South Bucks revamps leisure sites
South Buckinghamshire District Council has completed a refurbishment of two of its health and fitness facilities.
The revamp was completed on behalf of the council by Wycombe Leisure, which recently secured a 10-year management contract to manage the two facilities – the Beacon Centre in Beaconsfield and Evreham Sport Centre in Iver.
The update of the amenities include the installation of Nautilus fitness equipment at both sites as well as bringing the clubs up to date with IFI regulations.
The council’s head of cultural and youth services, Lynn Trigwell, said: “As one of only a handful of authorities to have the prestige of an Olympic venue, at Dorney Lake, within its boundaries, the refurbished facilities will play a prominent role in assisting the council to deliver its objectives in the run up to the Games and offer a lasting local legacy post 2012”.
