Snap Fitness invests in signature group exercise programme
Snap Fitness is kicking off 2025 with the launch of four signature group exercise classes, which have been designed to stimulate all the senses and give a full body workout.
Going live in the UK and Ireland on 6 January, the four signature classes are 30 to 45-minute full body workouts that incorporate all seven of the body’s primal movements – hinge, squat, lunge, push, pull, twist and gait – using all muscle groups in each session.
With group exercise helping to build confidence and connection and research showing that those who participate in classes remain members for longer, Snap Fitness says it is using the signature programming to assert itself in the mid-market.
Andy Carr, fitness experience manager at Snap Fitness UK and Ireland, says: “We want these classes to stimulate all the senses and have created bespoke music playlists and use lighting to enhance the experience. Our members can enjoy the same type of workouts they’d find in boutique studios without paying premium prices.
“This signature group exercise programming represents the first step in a pivotal development for Snap Fitness in the UK and Ireland and will play a major role in shaping the future design and layout of our locations.”
The four classes are: S7 Strong, which uses benches and moderate weights with a high number of repetitions to build strength and endurance. S7 Speed is a HIIT workout, S7 Strike is a combat session with boxing moves and high-energy cardio and S7 Sweat combines strength training with explosive cardio.
The programmes have been developed in conjunction with fitness programming expert, Dean Hodgkin, who has worked with major brands, such as Reebok, Marks & Spencer and Nike.
The programmes will initially be available as instructor-led classes within the gyms before launching to members via on-demand video through the Snap App.
In 2024, Snap Fitness – owned by Lift Brands – launched 11 gyms in the UK and Ireland and reached the milestone of 100 sites.
Kevin Yates, CEO of Lift Brands EMEA, says: “As well as the growth that we’ve shown with new locations, 2024 was another year with no closures across the UK and Ireland. With some big developments to our in-gym experience and a busy opening pipeline for 2025, it’s going to be an incredible year.”
