Siriusware goes into the espionage business
When the Malrite Company, creator and owner of Washington DC’s International Spy Museum, was conducting a needs analysis for the attraction, it decided that to collect guest information and process revenue data, an integrated point-of-sale system for ticketing and retail functions was needed and chose Siriusware to provide the solution.
The selection of Siriusware was made because of its integrated approach to point-of-sale and because Malrite considered it was the only internally developed Windows-based system that offered solutions to both functions.
Siriusware’s Salesware suite is not only helping the museum lower its IT staffing costs but helping it develop cross-functional selling between its museum and retail stores.
Museum guests can purchase Siriusware-generated gift cards, or SpyBucks, that can be redeemed at museum and retail locations. Through the SpyBucks programme, the system also automatically provides membership discounts and registers members’ purchase history.
Siriusware has also teamed up with Ocean World, in the Dominican Republic, on a wrist band programme.
Ocean World offers a broad range of activities for its visitors and wanted a solution that permitted guests to enjoy all aspects of the attraction, including retail, food and beverage, through the use of their admission ticket issued in the form of a wristband bracelet.
They also wanted a reliable guest management system and, to address both requirements, turned to Siriusware to create a complete ticketing, point-of-sale and guest management system.
Using Salesware’s Ticketing and In-House Card features, Ocean World’s guests receive a wrist band – acting as a ‘front card’ – when they enter the lagoon area. The wrist band is scanned once at the lagoon’s point of entry and the credit card used at the original point of purchase is charged every time they receive service inside the attraction.
The newest version of Siriusware’s Salesware software, Enterprise Edition 4.0, was introduced earlier this year. It incorporates Microsoft SQL server technology and offers new functionality for areas such as fine dining, tee-time scheduling and call centre reservations.
It also gives Siriusware the ability to migrate its clients’ often varied point of sale systems to a single platform.
Siriusware will be attending IAAPA 2003 in Orlando this year, stand number 5243.
