Selby Leisure Centre plans could include cinema
Selby District Council are in talks with several cinema companies about the potential of building a new facility alongside the new Selby Leisure Centre - which burned down in a fire earlier this year.
Meetings have been held by the council and cinema groups about building a new facility alongside the centre to create a leisure village but as of yet, nothing has been finalised.
At present Selby only has a small community cinema. Interest had previously been shown in both 2009 and 2011.
The planning application for the leisure centre development, which will cost £9m is to be considered by the council's planning committee 31 July.
Councillors and staff from Wigan Leisure and Culture Trust (WLCT), revealed new concept images to the community, answering questions from the public with additional information being released at Community Engagement Forums in the area later this year.
