Samsung Health does a deal with Zumba to offer workouts on its app
Wellness platform, Samsung Health, has partnered with fitness brand, Zumba to deliver dance content for people at all fitness levels via its app.
Joonil Choi of Samsung Health believes this will be a great addition to the health tracking and wellness tools offered by the Samsung Health app, saying: "Zumba is an iconic brand with decades of experience in the fitness industry. By integrating its dynamic workouts into our app, we'll be giving our users more diverse and engaging ways to improve their wellbeing."
Zumba CEO, Alberto Perlman says he's delighted to be taking the brand to a wider audience, saying: "Our mission has always been to help people achieve happier and healthier lives through dance and fitness and this collaboration allows us to leverage Samsung's intelligent health platform to reach millions more."
Founded in 2001, Zumba says it has more than 15 million weekly participants in 185 countries. It uses world rhythms with easy-to-follow choreography for effective workouts.
In addition to the original dance programme there are a number of specialty classes available, including water-based workouts and those targeted at older adults.
Zumba also offers children's HIIT workouts and CIRCL Mobility workouts to improve flexibility with breathwork and mobility exercises.
Zumba has also just announced a collaboration with digital healthcare app, Noom to offer more resources, support and expertise to empower people to meet their health goals.
Noom members will gain exclusive access to Zumba content via the app and Zumba instructors will have the opportunity to become Noom Mindset Coaches for free for a limited time. This training allows instructors to learn Noom’s psychology, technology and human coaching methodologies which they can then implement with their clients.
“Teaming up with Noom allows us to extend their reach and impact, continuing to provide others with the tools and support they need to make lasting lifestyle changes,” says Perlman.
Geoff Cook, Noom CEO says: "Separately, each of our platforms has helped millions of people meet their personal health and wellness goals. Together, we will enable these individuals to cultivate even healthier habits and transform their lives for the better."
