SOLL Leisure encourages smokers to ‘packet’ in this month
SOLL Leisure is running a campaign to help people quit smoking and get fit to coincide with the smoking ban which came into force in England on 1 July.
Designed to publicise how exercise can help people stop smoking and provide the community with support and advice, the campaign includes a cigarette amnesty through which people can exchange unfinished packets of cigarettes for a free day pass at one of the trust’s nine SOLLutions gyms.
Personal trainers hit the streets on 30 June to publicise the Quit to Get Fit initiative, which will run throughout July.
Victoria Branch, group marketing manager for SOLL Leisure, said: “Research has shown that exercise while trying to quit smoking increases a person’s chance of success.
“Not only will it directly combat any weight gain that could result from nicotine withdrawal, it will also help to overcome cravings and improve your mood, while giving your overall health a boost!” Details: www.soll-leisure.co.uk
