SGL launches apprenticeships for staff
South Gloucestershire Leisure (SGL) has entered into a partnership with SkillsActive to deliver an apprenticeship programme to its leisure operations staff.
Earlier this year, 28 apprentices began training for level 2 and level 3 apprenticeships. The training will be delivered over a two-year period by Chartstage. Filton College's n-gaged training team is also supporting SGL's training programme and is creating tailor made solutions for other areas of the business such as catering, marketing and management development.
SGL chief executive Mark Crutchley said: "I'm delighted to be able to offer our employees the opportunity of such high quality learning, to invest in our staff with this scheme is an incredibly positive prospect and will only add to our commitment to improve services for our customers." Adrian Cable of SkillsActive added: "Apprenticeships represent a fantastic opportunity for employers in the Sports and Leisure industry to train their existing staff and develop their skills. The commitment to developing their staff by SGL, and the training solutions provided by Chartstage and by Filton College is a great example of good practice."
