Go Row Indoor develops with online classes geared for gym goers
British Rowing has expanded its indoor rowing programme with the introduction of two online videos; a 20-minute workout and a beginner’s guide covering technique.
Developments of the Go Row Indoor programme follow British Rowing’s creation and success of its three studio-based indoor rowing classes.
The online version of the 20-minute class is aimed at health and Fitness enthusiasts wanting to incorporate indoor rowing into their gym or home-gym routine.
Helen Rowbotham, director of innovation at British Rowing, said: “We want to make indoor rowing more accessible. With few indoor rowing focused workout videos available we have created something that’s easy to follow and will help gym members understand how to use the machine to achieve results. Our 20-minute online workout video is the first of its kind in the world.”
The second online Go Row Indoor video, developed in conjunction with double Olympic Champion Alex Gregory, is geared towards teaching beginners the basic techniques of indoor rowing. Gregory breaks down each part of the exercise so that it can be easily understood.
Rowbotham added: “Our three studio-based class models have already received very positive feedback from the fitness sector, and we’re excited to launch these new videos to supplement our Go Row Indoor offer.
Looking ahead, we have plans to develop additional class-based and online workouts aimed at everyone, from beginners to those at a performance level.”
British Rowing, the national governing body responsible for the development of rowing in England, has also strengthened its indoor rowing team with two new roles; Clare Holman, a fully qualified personal trainer, has been appointed as business development executive and Jo Loughlin, who joins from England Athletics, has been recruited as indoor rowing community and content executive.
