Roof gardens revamped for Summer
London’s The Roof Gardens – which is owned by Richard Branson and incorporates a private members’ club, function space and rooftop restaurant, Babylon – is now open for the summer following a £250,000 refurbishment.
Designed by sq.m2, the club features new lighting to enhance the dance floor and views of the gardens, a projection system, reflective decor and brown leather sofas and stools. A curved pewter bar by Project Orange dominates the room.
Babylon – which is on the seventh floor, above the club – has new seating, table and bar coverings in textured fabrics by Kvadrat and Muraspec.
An opulent Moroccan tent – which will act as a VIP lounge and be available for private hire – has been installed in the one and a half acre gardens.
The Roof Garden’s Tudor Gardens will be offering gourmet barbecues on Thursdays and Saturdays until 24 September. Details: www.virgin.com/roofgardens
