Rip Ride Rock it launches
Universal Orlando Resort theme park in Florida, US, has opened it's newest roller coaster.
The 3,800ft (1,160m) long Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit was supplied by German-based ride manufacturer Maurer Söhne. The X-Car Coaster type ride has a top speed of 65mph.
Universal has described the ride as the most technologically advanced ever made. One of the unique features of the coaster enables each rider to have access to a touch pad, from which they will be able to select their own ride soundtrack from a library of tracks.
The coaster's vertical lift hill will be 167 feet tall, making it the tallest in the Orlando area.
The coaster also features three first-ever manoeuvres: the Double Take, the world's largest non-inverted loop; the Treble Clef, where guests burst through a building façade on track shaped like the music symbol; and the Jump Cut, a spiraling, negative-gravity move.
"Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit is where adrenaline, music and technology meet - no two experiences will be the same," said Mark Woodbury, president of creative for Universal Parks & Resorts. "This roller coaster is a game-changing addition to the attractions here at Universal Orlando Resort."
