Revamped gym opens at Bolton facility
A extended fitness suite has opened to the public at Horwich Leisure Centre in Bolton, Lancashire, following the completion of a £250,000 refurbishment scheme.
Renovation work was undertaken by the Bolton Community Leisure Trust and Life Fitness, which has led to creation of a 456sq m (5,005sq ft) gym boasting three different spaces and 80 stations. A new entry-level gym space has been created in the centre's former crèche, which has been designed to cater for disability groups, schools, junior clubs and elderly people, as well as offering cardiac rehabilitation programmes.
The second fitness space incorporates a wider range of Life Fitness strength and CV equipment, while the third area for more advanced members boasts an extended free weights area and a separate personal training area. Bolton Community Leisure Trust vice-chair Richard Saunders said: "Horwich Leisure Centre has seen significant improvements over the last five years and this new gym is another major leap forward.
Life Fitness key account manager, Kerrie Pleasants, added: "We have paid special attention to making sure that people don't feel exposed or uncomfortable. Throughout the entire gym, the different zones are clearly signposted to make using the gym easy, accessible and productive for all."
