Reds Hall of Fame and Museum comes to Cincinnati
The Reds Hall of Fame and Museum has opened just west of the Great American Ball Park, the home of the baseball team Cincinnati Reds, along Cincinnati’s riverfront.
Jack Rouse Associates (JRA) designed and produced the exhibits and interactive experiences at the new attraction, which covers 15,000sq ft (1,394sq m) of display space over two floors.
It marks the company’s second collaboration with a major sports franchise – the Green Bay Packers opened the Packers Hall of Fame last summer, which also has exhibits designed by JRA.
Amy Merrell, JRA’s chief operating officer, said: “More and more we are seeing sporting organisations who are looking to engage fans beyond what’s happening on the court or the playing field.
“Museums, halls of fame, fan interactives – these are great ways to tell a franchises’s story and they bring added value to a stadium that otherwise would sit idle during the off-season.”
The Reds Hall of Fame and Museum features a variety of artefacts, tributes, theatres, interactive games, video kiosks and a re-created broadcast booth, all of which commemorate the history of baseball’s oldest team and trace the sport’s national development.
Exhibits include the Reds’ World Series trophies, an installation of baseballs marking each of Pete Rose’s major league-record hits and a “Rose Garden” overlooking the Ohio River.
