Raising profits through profitability
The Best Practice Forum for Tourism, Hospitality and Leisure has announced the results of its Profit Through Productivity research.
Following an 18-month investigation of 89 small and medium-sized businesses, the University of Surrey has identified seven key elements of best practice that would 'improve standards of service and raise levels of productivity and profit.'
The forum now aims to spread the word to the industry, explaining how these ideas can be employed.
Introducing the launch, Bob Cotton, BHA chief executive, said that in 'uncertain times', businesses shouldn't be cutting back on staff and training, but 'raising skills and productivity.'
Profit Through Productivity is offering a three-step programme including seminars, self-help kits and business development programmes. Every month for the next seven, a booklet will be launched looking at each of the elements of best practice.
