Qua Spa launches
The 50,000sq ft (4,645sq m) Qua Baths & Spa has opened at Caesars Palace resort-casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, US.
The spa boasts 51 treatment studios comprising three deluxe couples’ rooms, two hydrotherapy areas, three Vichy shower rooms, seven facial studios, 35 massage studios and a room where Swarovski crystal body art can be applied.
Located in Augustus Tower at Caesars Palace, Qua’s facilities include a circuit of Roman Baths – a tepidarium, caldarium and fridgidarium – plus three swimming pools, a Cedar Wood Laconium, a herbal steamroom and the city’s first Arctic Ice Room, with ice chips for guests to use.
There are also tea lounges in the men’s and women’s lounges – complete with a Tea Sommelier to refine your tea and pair it to your treatment – and a 5,500sq ft (510sq m) fitness centre equipped by Technogym.
The spa was designed by Hirsh Bedner Associates of Santa Monica, California, US and Allard & Conversano of Oakland, California.
A signature Qua product line is used for therapies, while there are plans to extend the line with clothing and other merchandise early in 2007.
Jennifer Lynn has been appointed spa director. Prior to joining the spa development team at Caesars Palace, Lynn spent four years as a spa business and design consultant at a number of resort spas throughout the US, including Ritz Carlton Reynolds Plantation in Lake Oconee, Georgia and the Montage Resort and Spa in Laguna Beach, California.
Lynn has also worked within operations and management at both the Bellagio Hotel and Casino Spa and the Treasure Island Hotel and Casino, both in Las Vegas. She is also currently the chair of the Las Vegas Spa Association and has been a member of the International Spa Association (ISPA) since 1998.
Located centrally on the famous Las Vegas Strip, the Caesars Palace resort-casino is owned by Harrah’s Entertainment, which has just been acquired by Texas Pacific Group (TPG) and Apollo Management for US$17.1bn (13bn euro, £8.7bn). Details: www.quabathsandspa.com
